Isaac Regional Council

The Isaac Regional Council has been supporting RACQ CQ Rescue since before the days of amalgamation with donations from each Council.

The John Villiers Trust

RACQ CQ Rescue’s primary helicopter is now in much better position to provide up-graded search and rescue services to the people of Mackay and surrounding areas thanks to the provision of a Chelton 7 Homer from the John Villiers Trust.

The advantage of the Chelton 7 homing beacon is its directional finding capability which gives the flight crew a compass heading directly to the beacon signal. This decreases the time in the search but it also allows CQ Rescue to rescue people in distress more quickly and efficiently.

Mackay Regional Council

Mackay Regional Council has been an keen advocate of RACQ CQ since 1995, contributing funds towards the initial set up costs for the helicopter rescue service.

Council continues to provide financial assistance to this essential community service on an annual basis and encourages its employees to contribute through a staff deduction scheme.

RACQ CQ Rescue is an essential community helicopter rescue service which the people of this region simply could not be without.

Approximately 450 missions are completed each year by the rescue crew, many of which involve residents of Mackay and surrounding areas.
