The essential purpose of RACQ CQ Rescue (as a Queensland Rescue Helicopter Service) is to reduce the loss of life, to reduce the likelihood of permanent neurological or physical impairment as an outcome of an acute illness or severe trauma, and to reduce the number of days which emergency patients need to spend in hospital. RACQ CQ Rescue is a community helicopter rescue service with an operating base in Mackay on the Central Queensland Coast of Australia. The predominant service region for RACQ CQ Rescue is from Bowen in the north to St Lawrence in the south which includes the majority of the Bowen Basin, the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.
The RACQ CQ Rescue Talent Search is a fundraising event for which entrants may pay, or raise, their Entry Fee. Entrants are encouraged to rise above and beyond the Entry Fee, as all raised funds go to RACQ CQ Rescue. If an entrant raises above and beyond their entry fee they will go into the running to win the “Overall Charity Prize.”
