At 5.30pm on Friday afternoon, the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter was tasked to retrieve an injured fisherman from a location near Kindemar Reef, approximately 120 killometres off the coast of Mackay.
The 42-year-old Mackay man was on board a 17-metre fishing vessel when an incident occurred causing his left arm to be caught in a boat motor. He sustained a suspected fractured arm in the accident.
The patient was winched on board the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter and was taken to the CQ Rescue base at Mackay Airport where he was transported by Queensland Ambulance by road to Mackay Base Hospital for treatment. He was in a stable condition during the flight back to Mackay.
