Police say around 10.45am a vehicle has struck a pedestrian on Herbert St.
The 85-year-old female pedestrian suffered life-threatening leg, arm and head injuries as a result of the crash. She was airlifted to the Townsville Base Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old woman, was not physically injured.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.

INITIAL: A woman in her 80s is expected to be transferred to Townsville Hospital after being hit by a car in Bowen.
A QAS spokeswoman said the incident occurred about 10.48am and the woman suffered multiple fractures and a head injury after being hit by a car on Herbert St.
An RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said the crew has been tasked to transport the woman to Townsville Hospital for further treatment.

UPDATE: 2.30 pm: Townsville Hospital notified the Daily Mercury the 85-year-old woman is still in a critical condition with no further information available.
