Man Smashes into Windscreen in Serious Tractor Accident

A property worker sustained multiple injuries when he was thrown into the windscreen of his tractor after a serious accident late last night.

The 35-year-old man, who lives on the property on the Fiztroy Development Road, near Valkyrie, was driving the tractor about 30km/hr last night when the bucket fell off the front. As the tractor ran into the bucket, the man was violently ejected into the glass windscreen, smashing it, The driver was then thrown out the side of the tractor cabin and onto the ground.

Tourist's Foot Speared by Sting Ray Barb in Whitsundays

RACQ CQ Rescue has transferred a tourist to the hospital tonight after he was speared in the foot by a stingray barb in the Whitsundays.

The 39-year-old Victorian man was walking in shallow water on Whitehaven Beach on Wednesday afternoon when he stood on a stingray and the marine creature’s tail barb was speared through the top of his right foot.

Mackay Rescue Helicopter Kept Busy Over Long Weekend

RACQ CQ Rescue has been a lifeline for five patients in their time of crisis this long weekend, flying more than 1400 kilometres to airlift them to hospital.

Since Friday, the Mackay-based rescue helicopter has transferred patients from across the region including the Whitsundays, the Bowen Basin and Clermont as well as far south as Stanage Bay. The patients ranged in age from a small toddler to their early sixties.

Missing Fishermen Found After Drifting in Boat for 12 Hours

RACQ CQ Rescue has found a boat drifting for almost 12 hours with four missing fishermen aboard about 37 kilometres off Sarina Beach today.

The rescue helicopter was tasked at 11 am to a search and rescue mission for a 4.3-metre vessel with four people aboard which set off from Cape Palmerston about 9 pm yesterday. The vessel was last seen at midnight.

Man Knocked Unconscious in Horse Fall at St Lawrence

RACQ CQ Rescue has landed in a grassy paddock near the Bruce Highway to airlift a man knocked unconscious when he fell from a horse this morning.

The 20-year-old man was mustering cattle on a property near St Lawrence, about 160 km south of Mackay, when he fell from the horse and on to his right side. An RACQ CQ Rescue spokesperson said the man was believed to have lost consciousness for about 30 seconds.

Two Fishermen Are Rescued From a Submerged Tree After Boat Sinks in Dam

RACQ CQ Rescue has found two fishermen clinging to a submerged tree near their sunken boat at Peter Faust Dam late yesterday.

The rescue helicopter was tasked about 5 pm by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) that a distress beacon had been activated at the dam, also known as Lake Proserpine, 26km west of Proserpine.
