Two Airlifted with Spinal Injuries After Horror Smash

RACQ CQ Rescue has airlifted two patients with suspected spinal injuries after a horror car smash on the Gregory Development Road last night.

A 26-year-old woman, from Belyando Crossing, had to be cut from the wreckage of the Holden utility she was driving when it crashed three-metres down an embankment just after midnight.

Toddler Suffers Head Injury in Fall from Farm Vehicle

RACQ CQ Rescue has today airlifted a toddler from a property at Koumala who sustained serious head injuries in a fall from a farm vehicle.

The two-year-old, who is from Brisbane and in the region visiting relatives, was seated in the front of an ATV farm vehicle which was travelling at slow speed when the accident occurred about 10 am, about 60km north of Mackay. The toddler’s father and four-year-old brother were also passengers in the vehicle.

Injured Woman Airlifted After Fall at Finch Hatton Gorge

RACQ CQ Rescue airlifted a 60-year-old woman with head injuries after she fell on a walking track at Finch Hatton yesterday.

The Mackay-based rescue helicopter was returning from a transfer from Hayman Island about 4 pm when they were notified of a possible winch task near the gorge, about 68 kilometres west of Mackay. They had to return to base to refuel and reconfigure the aircraft before arriving on scene at Finch Hatton about 5.50 pm.

June a Record Month for Mackay-based Rescue Helicopter

Mackay’s rescue helicopter has set another new record making June the second biggest month in the service’s 20-year history.

RACQ CQ Rescue completed 51 tasks last month and accumulated 90.58 flying hours which cost the community-funded service almost $700,000.

Firm Partners with Rescue Helicopter to Keep Fundraisers Mobile

Corefleet is helping drive support for the region’s rescue helicopter which saves hundreds of lives every year.

As a major sponsor of RACQ CQ Rescue since 2011, Corefleet this week provided the Mackay-based helicopter service with a dual cab Toyota Hilux 4WD to assist in their day-to-day operations including ongoing fundraising activities across the region.
