Horse Kick and Quad Bike Accident Keep Rescue Helicopter Crew Busy

Two serious accidents on rural properties in 24 hours has marked a busy start to the weekend for RACQ CQ Rescue.

This morning the rescue helicopter airlifted a woman from Nebo after she was kicked in the stomach by a horse at a Campdraft and horse sale. The 25-year-old Clermont woman was working with horses at the Nebo event when the accident happened about 10 am.

Injured Toddler Airlifted After Quad Bike Accident on Hinterland Property

A toddler was injured when her brother ran over her in a tragic quad bike accident in the Eungella hinterland late this afternoon.

RACQ CQ Rescue flew a total of 120 nautical miles (222 kilometres) to land on the cattle property near Broken River about 5.15 pm and then transfer the injured one-year-old girl to Mackay Base Hospital.

Rescue Helicopter Airlifts Man Injured in Quad Bike Accident on Property

RACQ CQ Rescue has airlifted a man from a cattle station near Collinsville tonight after he sustained serious injuries in a quad bike accident.

The rescue helicopter flew a total of 280 nautical miles to land on the remote property near Belyando Crossing, retrieve the patient and transfer him to the hospital in the marathon five-hour task.

Tiny Beachside Township Bowled over by Surprise Helicopter Visit

Seaforth residents could be forgiven for thinking it was an episode of X Files – bright flashing lights and deafening noise descending from the dark night sky in their sleepy, beachside town.

RACQ CQ Rescue’s Bell 412 helicopter made a surprise landing on the local cricket pitch, next door to the Seaforth Bowls Club, in the tiny township about 40km north of Mackay, about 8 pm last night.

Mercy Mission Marks 7000th Task Milestone for Region’s Rescue Helicopter

The airlift of a critically ill patient from one of the Whitsunday Islands on Saturday night marked the 7000th mission for RACQ CQ Rescue.

The milestone mission, the 314th task this year for the Mackay-based rescue helicopter, was incredibly significant for both the region and the community-funded organisation which next month celebrates two decades of service to the community, RACQ CQ Rescue CEO Martin Cleland said.

'Model' Citizens Raise $31,000 for Life-saving Charity

Ninety-two models from across regional Queensland have proven you don’t have to be a doctor to help save lives.

The RACQ CQ Rescue Model Search last month raised more than $31,500 for the region’s rescue helicopter service. Organiser Brooke Thompson, of Brooke Lee Models, handed over the donation to RACQ CQ Rescue CEO Martin Cleland at the life-saving aeromedical organisation’s headquarters at Mackay Airport recently.
