Donation Boxes

A good portion of the funds raised for CQ Rescue is gathered from coins collected in our donation boxes which are placed in supporting businesses right across Mackay, the Whitsundays, Isaac Region and the Bowen Basin.

Annually the total raised from our donation boxes is approximately $60,000. We mean it when we say, “Every cent counts!”

If you are a business owner and would like to host a CQ Rescue money box to help raise extra funds to fuel our flights, please contact us at events@cqrescue.org.au and we will be happy to help.

Tap and Donate

Want to help fuel a rescue mission and support our region’s rescue helicopter but you don’t carry change?

With so many in our community ditching cash in favour of cards, CQ Rescue has introduced Tap and Donate terminals at various businesses across the region which enable cardholders to quickly and easily make a $2 donation to our rescue helicopter service. To donate more just tap again to add another $2.

So if you don’t carry spare change, you can still donate to help keep our chopper flying and making life-saving journeys across Central and North Queensland.

Containers for Change

Be part of the change and help CQ Rescue save lives!

Our rescue helicopter has registered with Containers for Change so you can get a 10-cent refund for each eligible container returned to a container refund point and nominate our community-funded service as the beneficiary.

When you take your containers to an over-the-counter depot, drop-off, Reverse Vending Machine, mobile or pop-up site; simply use our scheme ID to donate your containers to RACQ CQ Rescue and we will receive the refund.
