MINER JUMPS ABOARD TO DELIVER LIFESAVING CARE ACROSS CQ

As a privately-owned coal miner based in Central Queensland, Jellinbah Group knows a lot about digging deep.

Committed to supporting and contributing to local communities surrounding their operations, Jellinbah Group has now come aboard as RACQ CQ Rescue’s newest Platinum partner.

Their $100,000 yearly investment over the next three years will help deliver life-saving aeromedical and emergency helicopter rescue services to people in rural and remote communities.

General Manager of Jellinbah Group’s Lake Vermont Mine, Dan Cawte, said the company was proud to contribute to a not-for-profit service which was so vital to residents, workers and visitors in the area in which they operated.

“We are continually focused on the safe operation of the mines and the health and well-being of our employees, communities and environment,” he said.

“Jellinbah Group supports a wide range of sporting, cultural and charitable causes so it’s with great pride we now partner with the CQ Rescue helicopter service. It’s incredible to know our business will be part of every life-saving mission they undertake and that our support will not only assist the sick and injured, but also help strengthen our connection with the local community,” Mr Cawte said.

RACQ CQ Rescue CEO Tim Healee said 2022 was the service’s second busiest year on record, with 638 missions completed. With demand for the service increasing every year and with two new AW139s arriving in mid-2024 which will improve the service’s speed, response time and patient care, there had never been a greater need for the life-saving service in the region or a better reason to support it.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have gained such vital support from this new, high-profile partner which ensures we can have this lifesaving aeromedical helicopter service on our doorstep and available anywhere, anytime throughout Central Queensland,” Mr Healee said.

Mr Healee said corporate and community support was critical to saving lives and keeping the helicopter crew up in the air.

“Their support is imperative now given our undertaking to upgrade the rescue helicopters to improve their speed, range and performance across Central Queensland,” he said.

“We literally couldn’t get off the ground without our partners, so such a significant and long-term commitment like this by Jellinbah Group will enable RACQ CQ Rescue to continue to respond to emergencies across the region when distances or locations are challenging,” he said.

“We are proud to welcome Jellinbah Group aboard to join a wonderful group of community-minded, safety-conscious organisations in support of our lifesaving service in Central Queensland.”

A $100,000 annual investment by Jellinbah Group over the next three years will help RACQ CQ Rescue deliver life-saving aeromedical and emergency helicopter rescue services to people in rural and remote communities.
